Calendar

How to import own data into Google calendar? Here is an example of  a comma delimited CSV file with information. Here are two examples, all day events, and hour long events:

Subject, Start Date, Start Time, End Date, End Time, Private, All Day Event, Location
Alpha,01/01/2009,,,,,,
Beta,01/02/2009,,,,,,
Gamma,01/03/2009,,,,,,

Subject, Start Date, Start Time, End Date, End Time, Private, All Day Event, Location
Shared Ice,01/20/2009,19:45,01/20/2009,20:45,,,REC S
Shared Ice,01/23/2009,19:45,01/23/2009,20:45,,,REC S
Hockey Game,01/24/2009,15:30,01/24/2009,16:30,,,GRA 1
Shared Ice,01/25/2009,13:00,01/25/2009,14:00,,,GRA 3

The problem is how to make yearly frequency, and this is possible to do converting CSV file into ICS calendar file with line:

RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;INTERVAL=1;BYMONTH=1

I’m not done yet.

Today was really bad internet connection. I had to restart cable modem many times.

Ice fishing

From January 1st till January 4th we were ice fishing on Lake of the Woods, distance 421 miles. Fish caught and kept: Sauger(9), Walleye(1), Perch(2), few small fish released including bigger Eelpout. We stayed at Ship’s Wheel Resort on Rainy River. You could see Canada on opposite side of this river. Entrance to the Lake of the Woods was next to the Morris Point Lodge. Friday was beautiful fishing day with blue sky, but cold. Saturday fishing day was snowy, and it was still cold day. But inside of ice house was comfortable and cozy environment.

Today we went to Science Museum and  we saw excellent IMAX film Mysteries of the Great Lakes.

And later we enjoed NHL game Wild vs San Jose Sharks. Sharks were able to tie in power-play 6:5 without goalie, 23 seconds before end by Milan Michalek‘s goal . But Wild eventually won.

Website for Saddle

Today I developed new website for replica of the Colonel Jesse Leavenworth saddle from year 1862. And added new email address. I need to add more pictures, and it could be released, probably the first week of year 2009!

Clutter

Yes, clutter. I spent significant part of day by reorganizing things on shelfs of my lab. Virtually not too much productive day, but I made some progress.

Post Christmas Visit

Bad weather week ago turned Pre Christmas Visit into today’s Sunday Post Christmas Visit. We had good family time with relatives, beginning with delicious lunch: Tender and juicy pork and dumplings, and more, cookies included, of course. It’s time to limit food intake in future days 🙂 .

Garbage

Week ago was really low temperature with a lot of snow. But in last few days a lot of that snow melted, and our compost Earth Machine also melted, so I could put inside all organic waste from last days. My wife is doing very good job with garbage organizing in our garage. Next week will be time to go to recycling center.

Scarf

In the afternoon called Natalia, she forgot the scarf on Christmas
party. It was actually the best thing that could happen. When she came
she has started singing a song for me. I invited her and her mother
for the cup of tea. Both of them are excellent singers. We enjoyed so
many beautiful Ukrainian Christmas carols. I have no doubt she is as
good physicist as a singer.

Website structure

Today I improved website structure. In this moment it looks like:
Home, Resume, Projects(minetlab,APOD), Communication(Blog, Calendar, Mailing List, Guests), Benefits(BMI, Trail, Lifestyle), Contact

Also I received email from K&L catching my typoes & mistakes. Thanks a lot! I getting be more familiar with publishing platform WordPress. It’s really nice, but maybe I should have my own installation version newer than instantly available 2.2.1. It would have more features, and it would allow me do even more tweaking.
